We where very lucky to become citizens just in time for voting in the election this year. So at 8.00 we stood in line outside the masonic hall (freemansion) eager to vote!!! We got one small piece of paper to number 1-8 which we wanted to represent in the house of parliament then a 1 meter x 10 centimeter long paper!?to pick one of the big parties or arrange around 30 parties in order of interest!John Howard in Liberal party has been in charge of the country for more then 10 years! his opposite Kevin Rudd in Labour is the one that can challenge Howards leadership today! other interesting parties is the Green party, Family first, Independent party ......
We look forward in following the voting result tonight on TV and hope it will bring in some fresh new ideas to politic here! Howard seems very tired and don't answears any questions very well and he is going to retire very soon! Kevin is very clear when asked questions. He is dorky but I think he is funny! I don't think it's healthy for any country to have the same leader for more then 10 years.

After voting we went to Starbucks and a playground where we saw an airplane writing KEV 4 PM (prime minister), one can only hope!

Well new Australia citizens, it looks like your country has a new Prime Minister, Mr. Rudd..... I hope he'll live up to his promises without damaging the economy. Congratulations!!!
Kevin Rudd seems to be a strong, positive, engaged leader with basic "common sense" ideas! We look forward in seeing some changes towards a healthier place to live and work!
